Wybit Inpatient
Round on patients, not on screens.
Wybit prepares every patient on your census before rounds, scribes the bedside conversation, drafts progress notes and orders, and keeps the discharge summary current from day one. Your team finishes rounds with the documentation already done.
Pre-round briefs, 18 patients
Progress note, 4B-12Draft
Orders from the spoken plan
- BMP, tomorrow AM
- IV furosemide
- TTE
The census grows. The day doesn't.
A rounding physician can carry 15 to 20 patients across multiple floors, or across multiple hospitals for specialists who consult. Every patient needs an overnight review, a bedside visit, a progress note, updated orders, and a clear handoff. Discharge summaries get written at the end of a long day, and discharges wait on them. Consults and daily visits go unbilled because the charge never made it out of the physician's pocket notes.
Pre-rounding
Chart review for every patient, every morning: overnight events, labs, vitals, imaging, nursing notes.
Progress notes
The same note structure written 20 times a day, often finished after the shift ends.
Discharge delays
Summaries, medication reconciliation, and follow-up arrangements pile up at the end of the stay.
Lost charges
Consults and subsequent visits missed between the bedside and the billing office.
One hospital stay, start to finish
Wybit works at every stage of the stay. Each stage hands its work to the next, so nothing is retyped.
Stage 1: Admission and consult request
The consult request arrives by page, fax, or EHR message. Wybit captures it, identifies the patient, and adds them to the physician's list with the reason for consult. It pulls the ED note, admission H&P, labs, imaging, and outside records, including the patient's office chart if they're an existing clinic patient.
Output: A consult brief ready before the physician reaches the floor.
Stage 2: The pre-round brief
Before rounds, every patient on the census gets a one-screen brief: what changed overnight, new labs and imaging with trends, vitals, medication changes, nursing concerns, and pending results. New abnormal findings are flagged at the top.
Output: A prioritized rounding list, sorted by who needs to be seen first.
Stage 3: Bedside scribing
The physician talks with the patient, family, and care team as usual. Wybit listens on a phone or badge and documents the encounter: interval history, exam findings spoken aloud, and the assessment and plan by problem.
Output: A draft progress note or consult note in the hospital's format, ready to review in the hallway.
Stage 4: Orders from the plan
When the physician says “repeat a BMP in the morning, start IV diuresis, and get a TTE,” Wybit drafts each order, links it to the right problem, and queues it for signature. Nothing is placed until the physician signs.
Output: A signed order set, minutes after leaving the room.
Stage 5: Care team handoff
At shift change, Wybit builds the handoff for each patient in a structured format such as I-PASS: illness severity, summary, action items, situational awareness, and contingency plans.
Output: A handoff the night team can trust, without a separate write-up.
Stage 6: Documentation integrity
As notes are written, Wybit checks for the specificity coders and CDI teams look for: acuity, linked diagnoses, and supporting findings. Gaps surface to the physician while the patient is still in front of them, not as a query three days later.
Output: Fewer retrospective queries and documentation that reflects how sick the patient actually is.
Stage 7: Discharge, started on day one
The discharge summary builds itself through the stay: hospital course by problem, procedures, key results, and changes to medications. On discharge day, Wybit prepares the medication reconciliation, patient instructions in plain language, and follow-up orders.
Output: A discharge summary that's ready when the patient is.
Stage 8: Transition home
Wybit sends the discharge summary to the patient's primary care physician and referring specialist. It schedules the follow-up visit, and the Appointment & Intake Agent calls the patient within 48 hours of discharge to check on symptoms, medications, and understanding of instructions.
Output: A closed loop from hospital to clinic, with the follow-up visit already prepared.
Stage 9: Charge capture
Every consult, daily visit, and procedure documented in Wybit generates a charge record with the encounter type, date, and linked diagnoses, sent to the billing team.
Output: No more charges lost between the floor and the office.
A day on the floor with Wybit
6:00 AM
Pre-round briefs are ready for all 18 patients on the census, with two new abnormal labs flagged at the top.
7:30 AM
Rounds begin. Each bedside conversation becomes a draft progress note before the physician reaches the next room.
8:45 AM
The physician signs orders for IV diuresis and a morning BMP from the hallway. The plan was spoken once.
10:00 AM
A new consult request arrives from the ED. The consult brief, including the patient's last two office visits, is ready in minutes.
12:30 PM
Two discharges are ready to go. Summaries, medication reconciliation, and patient instructions are drafted and awaiting signature.
3:00 PM
Every encounter from the day has a charge record sent to billing.
6:00 PM
I-PASS handoffs for every patient go to the night team. The physician leaves with the notes done.
Next day
The Appointment & Intake Agent calls yesterday's discharges to check in and confirm follow-up.
The patient you saw last month is the patient you're consulting on today.
For practices that see patients in the office and in the hospital, Wybit connects both sides. Office history flows into the consult brief. The hospital course flows back into the clinic chart. The follow-up visit starts with the discharge summary already in the snapshot.

Hospitalists and rounding specialists
Pre-round briefs, bedside scribing, progress notes, and orders drafted from the spoken plan.
Consulting specialists
Consult briefs that pull office history, consult notes written at the bedside, and charges captured across every hospital.
Nurses and case managers
Clear plans and handoffs, discharge readiness visible early, and post-acute needs flagged.
CDI and HIM teams
Specificity gaps caught at the point of care, so retrospective queries drop.
Billing teams
Every inpatient encounter arrives as a charge record, with no pocket cards or spreadsheets.
Specialty depth
Cardiology
Troponin and BNP trends, telemetry events, echo and cath results in the brief; heart failure and chest pain consult notes structured by problem.
Gastroenterology
GI bleed consults with hemoglobin trends and transfusion history; inpatient endoscopy findings and pathology follow-up tracked to discharge.
Hospital medicine
Multi-problem progress notes, high-volume discharges, and handoffs across shifts.
Works with hospital systems
Wybit runs alongside the hospital's EHR. It reads what the physician needs, writes drafts back for review, and never replaces existing workflows.
Security
The same safeguards as the clinic product: a BAA before any PHI, TLS 1.2+ in transit, AES-256 at rest, role-based access with MFA, and audit logs for every PHI action.
Inpatient questions
Something else? Email hello@wybit.ai.
Does Wybit place orders on its own?
No. Wybit drafts orders from what the physician says. Every order is reviewed and signed by the physician before it reaches the hospital system.
Does Wybit replace our CDI team?
No. It catches common specificity gaps at the point of care, so CDI specialists spend time on complex cases instead of routine queries.
How long does it take to start?
Demos run in an isolated environment with synthetic patients. Go-live timing depends on the hospital's integration and credentialing process. We'll map it out with your team.
Finish rounds with the notes done.
Tell us where you round, how many patients you carry, and which EHR the hospital uses. We'll show you a full hospital stay in Wybit, from consult request to follow-up call.
